National/state norm-referenced tests, AP exams, industry certification exams, transition and postsecondary assessments, career-interest assessments, initial or re-evaluation assessments.

PEP (home-directed ESA)Eligible

AP exams, norm-referenced assessments, placement exams and industry certifications; PEP students must take an annual norm-referenced test.

Private School Scholarship (FTC/FES-EO)Eligible from leftover funds after tuition

Test fees are an eligible school fee; outside assessments from leftover funds.

In Miami-Dade

A private psycho-educational evaluation — often the gateway to FES-UA — can itself be paid from an existing FES-UA account as a re-evaluation.

How to buy it

Check MyScholarShop first (anything listed is pre-approved), then Find Providers in EMA for direct pay to tutors, therapists and instructors. Otherwise pay with a card, keep the itemized receipt and submit for reimbursement. Anything not listed as eligible needs a pre-authorization request before you buy; 2026-27 requests close May 28, 2027.
